Holly Rooks Grenvicz — Principal / Chief Strategist
Felt-tip markers and posterboard aren’t the typical tools of a market strategist, but they’re the perfect fit for one of Werkshop’s principals.
Meet Holly Rooks Grenvicz (“grin” like a smile, “vicks” like the cough drop), a problem-solver with a passion for small businesses and big ideas. A small-town girl in love with the big city, she made a name for herself in the financial sector. And after years in marketing at First Tennessee Bank, Holly left to form Fresh Dirt Marketing. It was the breeding ground for her unorthodox yet effective methods, including the Strategic Development Session — a cornerstone of Werkshop’s distinctly different way of doing business. She’s created successful marketing blueprints for professional athletes, start-up ventures and businesses of all shapes and sizes, and she’s had a lot of fun doing it.
Home life: Holly and her husband, Joseph, live in Nashville with their toddler daughter Lyla, inside a home where the renovations never seem to end.
Likes: Spicy food, buying local, ballet, documentaries on secret societies from bygone eras
Inspiration: “My mom isn’t a businesswoman. She’s never read a balance sheet or sat at the head of a corporate board meeting. She isn’t a supermodel, an astronaut or a Nobel Prize winner, but her talents are just as great. She gave up a lot to make our family her priority, and has been the example of the mother that I hope to be to my own children. I realize that my greatest asset may not be my home, my business or my bank account, but the love I foster in my family. That’s a lesson that my mother taught me, and it is truly priceless.”
