Samantha Owens Pyle — VP Communications Strategy
As guru of Werkshop’s recent foray into full-service public relations, Sam Owens brings years of top-notch experience to our growing firm. A displaced Kentucky Wildcat fan living amongst Volunteers and Commodores, Sam was born in Owensboro, Ky., and grew up in nearby Greenville before heading off to college at Western Kentucky University. A few moves and a few jobs later, Sam is showing our clients how to make PR a benefit instead of a burden — and teaching us a few things in the process! She previously worked as Director of Communications for cabedge, and prior to that held a number of marketing positions for various companies and firms in the greater Nashville area.
Home life: Sam lives in Nashville with her husband, Keith Pyle, and her “dog-child” Imperial Shih Tzu, Oscar.

Inspiration: “My inspiration is my mom,” Sam says. “She is my hero, the strongest person that I have ever met. She has battled non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma for 11 years now, and has proven that a positive attitude and a will to live can do so much. For someone who has never been truly sick, I can’t imagine how horrible it is to have your body fight against itself. But not once has my mom ever said “I don’t feel well,” or “why me?” She takes it all in stride and fights to see another day for my family. She is absolutely amazing, and I hope to be just like her!”
